Café spaces imagined before a single espresso is poured

Affonteles is a Marseille concept studio specialising in interior narratives for future café environments. We produce design documentation only — no food service, no retail fit-out contracting.

Concept-first methodology

Every commission begins as a story about how guests will inhabit a room: where morning light falls on banquette seating, how the bar relates to the street entrance, which surfaces will age gracefully under daily service.

We translate that narrative into mood boards, plan layouts, and specification sheets suitable for landlord presentations and investor pitches across Provence.

Marseille context

Port-city cafés carry a particular rhythm — quick counter service at dawn, lingering tables by midday. Our concepts respect Mediterranean climate with shading strategies, tile cooling, and airflow patterns drawn from local building traditions.

We reference Vieux-Port limestone tones and North African ceramic heritage without pastiche, aiming for interiors that feel rooted yet contemporary.

Deliverables overview

Standard packages include reflected-ceiling plans, furniture layouts to scale, lighting intent diagrams, and a consolidated finishes schedule with Marseille-area supplier contacts. Three-dimensional sketch perspectives communicate volume to non-technical stakeholders.

Clients receive PDF and editable source files where applicable, with one presentation session at our Rue de la République studio included.

Who we work with

Independent restaurateurs planning their first concept, property developers packaging ground-floor commercial units, and hospitality groups testing a new sub-brand all engage Affonteles at different scales.

We decline operational consulting or menu development, maintaining strict focus on spatial and material design documentation.
